Work Authorization
TN Visa Status
As a Mexican national and graphic designer, I qualify for TN nonimmigrant status under the USMCA — the trade agreement between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. This means I can be hired immediately with zero sponsorship cost to your company.
No Sponsorship Required
Unlike H-1B or O-1 visas, TN status does not require employer sponsorship, USCIS petition filing, or legal fees on your end. I handle the entire process.
Zero Cost to the Employer
There are no filing fees, no attorney costs, and no government applications that the employer must submit or pay for. The process is handled at the U.S. port of entry.
No Lottery. No Quota.
Unlike H-1B, TN status has no annual cap and no random lottery. If I qualify — and as a graphic designer, I do — approval happens at the border or a U.S. consulate.
Approved on the Same Day
TN status is typically approved at the port of entry or through a consular appointment within days — not months. I can start work with no waiting period once approved.
Renewable Indefinitely
TN status is granted in up to 3-year increments and can be renewed without limit. There is no maximum period of authorized stay, making it a long-term solution.
What You Need to Do
Provide a signed job offer letter. That's it. No petitions, no government filings, no legal costs. The letter must state the position title, duties, and that a degree is required.
Graphic Designers Qualify
Under the USMCA Appendix 2 (formerly NAFTA Appendix 1603.D.1), Graphic Designers are explicitly listed as a qualifying profession under the category of "Graphic Designer" requiring a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree — which I hold.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics classifies Graphic Designers under SOC code 27-1024. This is a recognized professional category that directly maps to TN eligibility.
My work history — The Agency RE, Newmark, JLL, Alakai Capital — demonstrates years of professional practice at institutional level, further strengthening the application.
